Back to the Future Tidbit!

Eric Stoltz was cast in the role of Marty McFly for 6 weeks of filming before Bob Zemeckis and Steven Spielberg deemed him "too intense" for the role and let him go. They were then able to get Michael J. Fox, their first choice for Marty, who had at first been unable to play the role, due to a scheduling conflict with his TV series "Family Ties." Thankfully, his boss Gary David Goldberg allowed him to juggle the two projects, and the rest is history!

NES

Today was the day! I busted out the NES. I will have to admit I almost forgot how to hook up the darn thing! I rattled around in my closest and found the blue, and red case that I got for my 10th birthday. It' s funny, out of all the zipper's I owned in my lifetime this is probably the longest working zipper that has ever worked for me. And believe me this zipper has been used!

I started out slowly with Duck Tales, and worked my way slowly to the original Mario Brothers. I had to grease the wheels and get used to the speed, especially on the jumping portion. Have you ever noticed the "jumping" is different in Mario Bros. 1 then 3? It seems like Mario must of done some training or something? You know is Uncle is Dr. Mario? There must be a connection there somewhere? They must not have steroid regulations like they do in baseball, and football! Of course I won't be surprised if he is caught and ends up like Jose Canseco, Mark McGuire, and the latest; Alex Rodriquez. Keep me posted if you see Mario in the papers! I know the evil King Koopa is plotting against him!

I cycled through the others; Paperboy, RC Pro AM, Back to the Future. Tecmo Bowl etc. These our the ones of course that you play for about 5 minutes. How come these games were so cool when you were like 10?

Anyways, I finished the afternoon with Super Mario 3. Each level brought back memories of all 4 of us kids fighting over the controllers. The countless hours of Mario 3, the hidden doors, and the chasing ghosts. Michelle jumping with the controller back and forth and Jackie slamming the controller on the ground everytime she lost a life! If it wasn't for Russell with his "mad gaming" skills we wouldn't of found the hidden door in World 8 to get us to King Koopa's castle where would be today?

I definately have to give some serious "props" to Mom & Dad for putting up with us kids fighing over the Nintendo like it was our last meal. Yes, Mom we still love you even though you charged us 25 cents a game. I know for sure I only played one game a day, well at least the one you saw! :-)

Hey Everyone...had an ultra sound and doctors appt today.....they gave us a pic of her face and she looks kinda like jared!! LOL She looks like she will also be a little chunk! We will soon find out for real....everything looks good and on track. I was worried she was going to be a giant but the doctor says she looks pretty average size right now. I also think she had dropped down because I have to pee like every 3 minutes...it's great! Well, more later when the exciting stuff starts to happen ;))

Zita's Funeral

Hi Everyone,

Today I went to Zita's funeral at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Evanston. It was a lovely service with about 30 people in attendance. I spoke to her sons John and Paul, and both were really pleased that someone from Wenatchee could be there. I told them that you all would have been there if at all possible. Paul said that he remembered Michelle and Jackie, and both John and Paul said to say hi to everyone.

Paul gave a very moving, personal eulogy that spoke to just how wonderful and giving a person Zita was. He shared a few emails that he had received from people (including yours, mom!) and each one showed just how influential she was in people's lives.

He also talked about how Marcia Kopfer wanted to be there but couldn't because Torry's wife had a baby, almost exactly at the time that Zita died!

Here are a few pictures from the day.... I had to be sly inside the church because I didn't want to offend anybody by taking pictures. I also got a program and a little card that they had made there -- I will post them later.

THIS IS MY FIRST TIME, HOPE IT WORKS.

JUST THOUGHT I WOULD TRY THIS OUT. I TOOK MY FRENCHORN IN TODAY FOR REPAIR. I PICKED IT UP AT WHILE AT MOM'S. I'M GOING TO ATTEMPT TO START PLAYING AGAIN.

I GUESS THIS IS PAYBACKS FOR TO MY DOGS FOR ALL THE BARKING THEY DO!

IT OPENED UP MY MUSIC BAG AND FOUND STUFF FROM GRANDPA'S LESSONS. IT WAS QUITE THE FLASHBACK. I'M GLAD HE WROTE THE FINGERINGS DOWN, I THINK IT WILL BE QUITE HELPFUL :-)

This was our last visit with Zita during Christmas of 2007.  She waved goodbye to us until our car got 4 blocks away to turn.  I'll miss Zita.

Hello family!

Hello everyone!

I had this idea to create a very simple blog for us all to keep in touch, especially now that we're going to have a new member of the family within the next month!

I know that I'm the worst when it comes to making phone calls and staying updated on everyone's lives, so this is a place where we can all post our thoughts, significant events, photos, or even video to share with one another.    And we can all comment on each other's posts...

It's very easy to post -- a lot like a word processor.  If you have any trouble, let me know, and I'll try to help.

I hope you'll try it out -- there are lots of cool things we can do with it once we get the basics down.
