Hello Family! Today has been a fun day with Michelle. Out to lunch, flower shopping, starbucks and pedicures. Mom and I have done everything to get the labor starting...no luck yet. Now we're just chillin, making dinner and watching movies tonight. We'll be sure to call everyone once anything exciting starts to happen!

ANNIVERSARY / CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

We celebrated our 3rd Wedding Anniversary today! We had a good time! I got off early from work, around Noon. We transferred a bunch of bulbs from our front flower bed into pots. We have been getting the yard ready for some landscaping to be done starting next Monday.

We had 3 trees that were about 60 ft tall cut down. They were "hybrid" poplars, the worst trees to have. They take over you entire yard and the root system goes anywhere and everywhere! Trees start to growing pretty much everywhere. It's very annoying especially in the summer time. Our yard is pretty much a jungle so we have made a decision to contract the major work since it's not practical for me to be out there for 3 months with a shovel. We will keep you updated with some pictures.

We went to dinner at the Olive Garden, Rebecca's favorite! It was good, we ate, and ate, at ate until we nearly needed a courtesy ride to our ride; get it! After dinner we came home and chilled for awhile and then late this evening we went to our final hockey game. Coincidentally the final game fell on our Anniversary. Rebecca was a good sport and was my number 1 fan. We had a good turn out and ended up winning in another shootout.

LEAGUE PLAYOFF GAME

This is my first year playing league. Our league is composed of 4 teams of approximately 12-14 players per team. Currently our team is leading in points. Each game that is won you score 2 points, and very every shootout you earn 1 point.

Last Monday was our first playoff game, loser plays the consolation match the following week. So really you can go from 1st Place to 3rd or 4th place in a matter of 48 minutes from 32 weeks of hardwork.

The game started off bad, we were missing 2 players one being one of are very best defenders. We just couldn't get the puck in the net, usually we score a few goals each period. Their goalie was in a zone, and believe me we tried to get in his head. We continued to battle back and score 1 goal to tie things up. Unfortunately that is wear the score remained until the end of regulation.

We continued on into a 5 minute 4th period; "sudden death" who ever scores first wins. The buzzer sounded at the end of the 4th period still the score at 1-1.

Now came the shootout. A shootout it decided by each team taking turns shooting 1 on 1 on the goalie. The format starts with the first 3 shooters from each team. Which ever team scores the most goals out of 3 attempts wins. If the scoring is either matched by point earned, or an equal amount of shots our blocked by each goalie then the teams continue to shoot until one team has more shots made.

We continued to go back and forth neither of us scoring, finally the 5th shooter from their team made one, we followed suit with our 5th shooter scoring a goal, keeping us alive. Their 6th shooter missed it, our 6th shooter missed it. Their 7th shooter missed it.

At this point I went up to center ice, never done a shootout before. However I watched the goalie the first 6 times most of all out shots we very low. So I went down and shot it on the top left corner of the net over his right shoulder and it went right in the the net for the game winning goal. I have to admit I was quite humbled by the whole experience. The last thing you want to do is celebrate in front 14 players that pretty much have you on their radar.

It was a great win, next week is our final game. I had to the tell Rebecca the good news and the bad news. Honey, "the good news is that we won, the bad news.. well the game is on our Anniversary"!!!!

Just a hello

Hi Family,

Just wanted to announce that I'm on 'Spring Break!'  Finished my second quarter (they're flying by fast!)  Wish I had the real spring break with time off...still have to work this week... :(.  Aaron's family has been visiting from Montana this week and last weekend.  Very nice family....thing's have been going great.  Tomorrow we're having St. Patrick's Day corned beef & cabbage dinner. Haven't written here in a while, so that's all I have for the life updates.  Oh...and I'm anxiously waiting by my phone so I can be there to welcome our newest member of the family when she comes! :)   

bebe news

Hey everyone....had my weekly doctors appointment today. I'm just over 38 weeks and things are starting to happen...but could still be a few weeks away. Doc said I'm 1 cm dialated and 50% effaced.....can't believe she is almost here. We are pretty much ready to go...as ready as we will be I guess ;) Well, keep you posted when things start progressing. Love ya lots , Michelle

THE REAL DEAL!

Well today was the day! Justice was served. I got home and investigated "the passageways" There was tunnel big enough for a train to come through. Initially I lit another gopher bomb. As I jammed the bomb into the hole I looked off to the right, and there he was!!

The joy of being a homeowner! So, I was headed out the door the other morning and I couldn't help to notice a very large mound of dirt! The wind was blowing pretty much like it always does so I figured it was just a coincidence. Well I got home and well.. found a little friend in our front flower bed.

When my carpool arrived my friend Charlie said, "Dude, I just saw something run out from your flower beds". Initially I thought of the big groundhog from Groundhog's Day, and then secondly the gopher from "Caddyshack".

I got home and quickly equipped myself with my duct tape shovel. This is actually my 4th shovel. I keep breaking the darn things. I start out doing some minor landscaping then I get crazy and usually break the darn thing.

Anyways to get back on track I picked up some gopher bombs and investigated the gopher holes looking for the main "passageway" this is according the the instructions. Of course they all look like main passageways. I lit the "Zippo" lighter and watch the end of the fuse light up and start to sparkle. I quickly jammed the smoke bomb in the hole and quickly looked for the Grey duct taped shovel. I was watching "poised like a snake ready to strike". I waited, and waited hoping that the little monster that ruined my award winning lawn would come running out. Of course he never came out, and to my surprise he has visited yet another time.

Today is the first day he hasn't surfaced, beware he could be coming to a lawn near you.
